I took the 3D art class , it was a great class. For someone who has never done anything like this before I learned a lot. Alberta was a phenomenal teacher. She brought in pictures and showed us how to form our work. I liked it so much I am taking the next class Image Transfer. - Joan Brown

Erin and I attended a system summer planning meeting yesterday in Frewsburg. I am so excited about this summer's reading program theme: "Every Hero Has A Story"! We are planning great story times, special guests and events for all ages. Keep watching here, on the website and at the library for more information. Sign-ups will be at Welch Field on Tuesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 4th from 6:00 - 8:00. This summer we plan to hold story times for children entering grade 1-2 and 3-4 after lunch to make less conflict with swimming lessons. Get your masks and capes and join the summer fun at Patterson Library!  Just in time for "An Evening of Fine Taste." Take a look at our new stemless Patterson Library wine glasses perfect any type of beverage. They will be available for sale during and after the Evening of Fine Taste event which takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are available at the front desk.

This year, the Patterson Library is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Winter Book Sale. This post will be your guide to how we're setting up the sale this year.
1. The book sale will last for three weeks The items will be on sale from Tuesday to Saturday of the week. You can come in to buy books anytime during library hours. Library hours are as followed: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. 2. Each week, a different set of items will be sold The first week, February 3rd through February 7th, non-fiction items will be sold. The second week, February 10th through February 14th, fiction items will be sold. The final week, February 17th through February 21rst, children and young adult items will be sold. 3. Individual prices are as followed $0.50 for paperback books and $1 for hardcover books. 4. This year, we have bundle pricing This year, you will be able to purchase a 'Bag' special. There are two sizes pricing at $5 and $8. You pay either amount and you can fill the bag to your desire. 5. There will still be the annual summer sale If you can't make it to this one, you can still catch the summer sale. Thank you, Patterson Library Staff I go to the movies A LOT, thanks to my movie buff husband. It's always surprising to him at how many times I utter "That's based on the book ______." or "I read that book last year!" during the previews. (Or if you're a Game of Thrones fan, I suppose it might be more like "Will he ever finish the books before the series catches up?" but that's a story for another blog post...)
I try my best to read the books before I see the movie, because that's just my preference. I like to compare and cheer when the movie and I share the same imagination about characters, etc. and complain when I think they get it totally wrong.
