I go to the movies A LOT, thanks to my movie buff husband. It's always surprising to him at how many times I utter "That's based on the book ______." or "I read that book last year!" during the previews. (Or if you're a Game of Thrones fan, I suppose it might be more like "Will he ever finish the books before the series catches up?" but that's a story for another blog post...)
I try my best to read the books before I see the movie, because that's just my preference. I like to compare and cheer when the movie and I share the same imagination about characters, etc. and complain when I think they get it totally wrong. I always love the book before the movie. I'm a huge Ben Affleck fan and Town was one of my favorite movies by and with him. I was happy to find out the book, Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan, was what the movie was based off of. I was disappointed to find out AFTER I saw the movie so couldn't read it first !
